Reverse Vending Machines

Reynolds Recycling has teamed up with Tomra, a worldwide leader in recycling technology, to provide Reverse Vending Machine products and services to Hawaii. As Hawaii's authorized Tomra distributor, Reynolds is committed to providing current and future customers with the highest level of service for their Reverse Vending Machines and Instadeem Machines.

The Benefits of the Tomra Design

  • Tomra created the world’s first Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) in 1972 and has remained the worldwide leader in RVM technology.

  • There are over 50,000 Tomra RVMs installed in 40 countries, representing over 90% of the world market share.

  • Tomra’s newest model, the HCp, has the capacity to hold 5,000 aluminum cans at a time. That’s over 212% higher than the industry standard (1,600 cans).

  • Tomra machines are the only ADA compliant models in the business, ensuring equal access for all consumers. This includes the popular Tx2 line, which has been installed at the Capitol Building, the City & County of Honolulu Municipal Building, our Enchanted Lake location, and on our mobile trucks on Oahu, and on the Big Island.

  • Tomra seeks to minimize the impact on a retail environment, so all machines have a small foot print, similar to the size of a beverage vending machine.

  • Tomra created the first ever cash redemption machine, the InstaDeem, as a way to help dealers save on costs by eliminating the need for a cashier.

  • The InstaDeem’s unique technology provides receipt verification, and eliminates fraudulent or multiple redemptions.

  • The HCp has a faster processing time than any other model, at 2 seconds or less per container.
